Do you love reading and enjoy working with kids? Do you want to earn community service credit? Join Reading Buddies and make reading fun!
Middle and high school students can sign up to be a Reading Buddy Teen Volunteer this summer. After a brief training session, you will be paired with elementary school students who will read to you and practice their literacy skills, followed by fun word games.
All participation counts as community service credit; bring your community service form if you have one.
Registration:
There will be six opportunities this summer, June 19 and 26, July 10, 17, 24, and 31. Please commit to a minimum of two dates, preferably consecutive weeks. Each shift is one hour.
There will be brief training sessions for new teen volunteers. Meet in the Teen Room 15 minutes before your shift for training if you are new to Reading Buddies. The program may be held outside if weather permits.
This information will be emailed to volunteers who sign up with reminders of the dates and times.
