Lend a helping hand at the Library!

Middle and high school students who need to earn community service credit for school or who want to volunteer at the Library for a fun experience can sign up to be a "helping hand"!

The first step is to complete the Teen Volunteer Application.

Next, sign up for the dates you can attend. If your plans change, make sure to cancel your registration.

Shifts are on Thursdays after school. Community service hours are 3:30-5:30; you can volunteer for part or all of that time.

If you cannot attend on Thursdays, contact the Teen Librarian at teens@beltiblibrary.org to discuss your availability.

Another option is to help at Afterschool Lounge on Wednesdays; this volunteer job includes setting out and cleaning up snacks, overseeing gaming equipment, and general room monitoring.

Please bring your school community service form to the library for signature if you have one. You are responsible for tracking your time, so make note of the days and hours you work.

Tasks will be assigned when you check in at the Teen Room and may include working in the garden, keeping the Teen Room organized and clean, shelving books, and other assignments.

If you are an experienced Dungeons & Dragons DM, or have knowledge of Anime and Manga, and are interested in leading a club as a special volunteer opportunity, please contact the Teen Librarian at teens@beltiblibrary.org

About the branch

The Library was designed by the firm of Bull, Stockwell, and Allen. The architectural style is that of the 19th century railroad yard in Tiburon.

The site is part of the landfill of the 1890s done to create the railroad yard. Windows frame views of the marsh lands and Old St. Hilary's Open Space preserve.

The expanded library was designed by Brown Reynolds Watford Architecture and added approximately 9,000 square feet, bringing the total size of the library to about 19,500 square feet.
