Jeffrey Schaub is a six-time Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist whose career has helped shape the landscape of Northern California news for more than four decades. With a deep commitment to storytelling and public service, Jeffrey has reported on some of the most consequential events of our time.
He was on the front lines during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, delivering vital information in real time. He traveled to London to profile the British Royal Family and covered the high-stakes drama of the 2000 presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore. He has attended two National party conventions. In 2018, he was among the first journalists on the ground in Paradise, California, chronicling the devastation of one of the deadliest wildfires in U.S. history. He received accolades for his coverage of the 2017 Tubbs Firestorm in Sonoma and Napa counties.
A pioneer in environmental journalism, Jeffrey created and led “The Green Beat” franchise in local television news. His coverage helped elevate climate and sustainability issues well before they became part of the national conversation.
Over the course of his career at KPIX-TV(CBS) and later KCBS News Radio, he has interviewed three U.S. presidents and most major political figures in California, earning a reputation as a fair, fearless, and deeply informed reporter.
