Gourmet Mushroom Growing Workshop with Pollinate Farm

Join Yolanda Burrell of Pollinate Farm for a hands-on home mushroom growing workshop! Learn the art and science of growing gourmet mushrooms and build your own inoculated kit to take home.

This interactive session is perfect for both beginners and seasoned gardeners eager to explore the world of fungi.

Space is limited to 20 participants.

Yolanda Burrell is a mother/wife, entrepreneur, urban farmer, beekeeper, and co-founder of Pollinate Farm. An avid do-it-herselfer, she cultivates seasonal fruits, vegetables, cut flowers, and plants for natural dyes. She is at home at her own Oakland homestead – a permaculture food forest lab where she and her family raise chickens and bees and actively reconnect with traditional Black foodways. She is a graduate of the UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardener program, a member of the Alameda County Beekeepers Association, Women of Food and Agriculture, and a past project leader with the Montclair/OakTown (Oakland) 4H Club. Yolanda also serves on the advisory council of the Berkeley Food Institute and the board of the Black Fiber & Textile Network.

Pollinate Farm is Black Woman-owned farm in Oakland, CA. They are a tapestry of urban growing sites, spread across several locations. Through the generosity of their neighbors, they are able to grow food in local residential spaces. They grow fresh, healthy, local food for communities throughout San Francisco and the East Bay. Their farm sites are powered by an amazing team of volunteers from many professions.
